Faith and Spirituality:

At the Winona Area Catholic Schools students are given opportunities to grow in their faith and develop personal spirituality. We prepare our students for their future by working together as a loving, faith community of students, staff, families, and friends to teach as Jesus did. The commitment to faith, spirituality and the cornerstones of education that have evolved in our schools over the years, demonstrates the unity

of the entire community of faith in Winona.

The administrators, faculty, staff are united in believing in the values of the Catholic faith. These values are taught and experienced on a parish level, in religion classes, all school liturgies, service activities, visitations to the elderly, and throughout academic learning environment. It is believed that these Catholic values will be the cornerstone for students.

The following include some of our beliefs:

Catholic education is grounded in the traditional teachings of Catholicism.

Students are able to use their learning, spiritually and well as academically, in their everyday experiences.

Clergy, administration, teachers, students, parents, and the parish community share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission of growing in the Catholic faith and following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

And an example of our continuance for excellence is that WACS is accredited by the MN Nonpublic School Accrediting Association (MNSAA). Through accreditation, faculty, students, and parents benefit by knowing that teaching conditions in accredited schools meet necessary requirements and those efforts are continuously made for school improvement.

In Conclusion:

We have passed the 20 year mark of a consolidated school system and are optimistic about the future of Catholic education in Winona. We feel this is the best choice in education. We are proud of our tradition of excellence and welcome the opportunity to share it with all of you. We thank you and your family for your interest in our school and we hope this website helps you learn more about how WACS makes a difference in the lives of its students and alumni.
